Our Long Term Care Benefit Plan Provider – Life Care Funding
Life Care Funding was founded in 2007 and is dedicated to helping seniors address the high costs of long term care. Working in conjunction with licensed Life Settlement Providers, Life Care Funding helps seniors convert a life insurance policy into a Long Term Care Benefit Plan. That Plan will cover all or part of the expenses associated with any care provider chosen by the senior. A national network of over 5,000 Assisted Living Facilities, Nursing Homes and Home Care providers (our Trusted Partners) now offer our program. In addition, thousands of life insurance agents, lawyers and other advisors offer the Long Term Care Benefit Plan as an option for their clients who need help paying for long term care. Life Care Funding is headquartered in Portland, ME and has offices in California and New York.
LCF has worked with the National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL), the Florida Medicaid Department, the Florida and Texas Health Care Associations, AARP, the insurance industry, and the life settlement industry to develop this private pay funding option to provide important consumer protections and ensure that it is recognized as a Medicaid Qualified spend-down. Life Care Funding has testified before NCOIL, the state legislatures of Florida, Texas, Maine, a special joint meeting of the New Jersey Medicaid and Insurance Departments, and provided expert testimony before legislative workgroups in Florida and Louisiana and contributed to the final report of the Congressional Commission on Long Term Care. Life Care Funding has been covered in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, published numerous studies, and we have spoken across the country about the importance of making sure the owner of a life insurance policy understand that they are better off converting it into a Long Term Care Benefit Plan instead of lapsing or surrendering their policy.
About Life Care Funding’s Founder – CEO Chris Orestis
Chris Orestis, nationally known senior health-care advocate and expert is CEO of Life Care Funding, which created the model for converting life insurance policies into protected Long-Term Care Benefit funds. His company has been providing care benefits to policy holders since 2007. A former life insurance industry lobbyist with a background in long-term care issues, he created the model to provide an option for middle-class people who are not wealthy enough to pay for long-term care, and not poor enough to qualify for Medicaid.
